Nasturtium Purple Emperor is a half hardy annual that is unique with its dusky-rose coloured flowers with splashes of yellow in their throats. Opening from dark burgundy buds before fading for a vintage look. This Indian cress has a spreading and trailing habit making them ideal to plant in garden borders or patio pots where they can cascade down the sides. Height:30cm (12”). Spread:30cm (12”). Culinary Note: Use the peppery leaves and colourful flowers to spice up salads for a peppery taste, like rocket. Leaves may also be used to make pesto and how about picking the seed pods to create Poor mans Capers. - Direct sow nasturtiums outdoors where they are to grow from March to May. Choose a position in full sun on well drained soil which has been raked to a fine tilth. Sow nasturtium seeds thinly, at a depth of 20mm (¾) in drills spaced 30cm (12) apart and cover seed with its own depth of soil. Water the ground regularly, especially during dry periods. Germination usually takes 7-12 days. When nasturtium seedlings are large enough to handle, thin them to 30cm (12) apart. - Position: Full sun - Height: Up to 30cm (12in) when fully established - Spread: Up to 30cm (12in) when fully established - Supplied as 1x Nasturtium Purple Emperor Mix Seed Packet. - Images shown are for guidance only of the expected results from plants upon maturity.
